The Zootzensee ( Slavic sosna " Kiefer ", after the desert settlement Zootzen ) is located in the north of Brandenburg and is part of the Rheinsberg Lake District . The lake, which was rich in bays and used to be much larger, covers an area of 167 ha. It is up to 21 m deep. There are navigable connections to the west via the Repenter Canal to the Großer Zechliner See and to the east via the Zootzenkanal to the Tietzowsee .
The Zootzensee is part of the Zechliner waters, a so-called other federal inland waterway. The Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible .
