Tillyschanze

Tillyschanze or Tillyschanz are the names of different places where the general Johann t'Serclaes von Tilly had entrenchments built for defense during the Thirty Years War - for example:

  • Tillyschanze (Münden) , near Hann. Münden, in Reinhardswald, Göttingen district, Lower Saxony
  • Tillyschanze (Wildemann) , near Wildemann , in the Harz, Goslar district, Lower Saxony
  • Tillyschanz , area and border crossing at the Tillyschanze near Eslarn, in the Upper Palatinate Forest, Neustadt an der Waldnaab district, Bavaria
