Tilman Ridge is a mountain ridge in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It forms the northwest branch of the Allan Hills .
It was explored in 1964 by a team working in the Allan Hills as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program . This named him after the British mountaineer Bill Tilman (1898–1977) and his connection to the New Zealand geologist Noel Ewart Odell (1890–1987), after whom the nearby Odell Glacier is named, and the British mountaineer Eric Shipton (1907–1977) , Namesake of neighboring Shipton Ridge .
