Ten years after the construction of the Sher-Dor-Madrasa , the Tilya-Kori-Madrasa ( gold-plated madrasa ) was built between 1646 and 1660. This madrasa was not only used to educate students, but was also one of the most important mosques for a long time .

The Tilya-Kori-Madrasa has a two-story main facade, a large, wide courtyard with small living rooms (hudzri) on the edge, and four corridors that have spread around the axis. The mosque building is in the western part of the courtyard. The main hall of the mosque is richly gilded.
