Tim Freytag

Tim Freytag (* 1969 ) is a German geographer . He is professor for human geography at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg .

Vita

After his studies and doctorate, Tim Freytag worked from 1997 to 2009 as a research assistant at the Geography Institute of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . He wrote his dissertation on the educational situation of Hispanics in the USA. From 2009 to 2010 he held the professorship for cultural geography at the Geographical Institute of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel and was then appointed to the professorship for human geography at the Institute for Environmental Social Sciences and Geography at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg .

Research and Teaching

Freytag's research projects focus on the fields of tourism and mobility research, urban research and sustainable urban development, as well as social and educational geography. He teaches in the geographic courses at the University of Freiburg.

Freytag was Dean of the Faculty for Environment and Natural Resources from 2014 to 2018, he is the spokesman for the Working Group Educational Geography of the German Society for Geography and co-editor of the Geographical Journal .
