Time Travel Vienna is a world of experience on the history of Vienna in the historical vaults at Michaelerplatz in the first district of Vienna. On a one-hour tour, accompanied by tour guides, visitors experience eight different show-like scenes from 2000 years of Viennese history, including a 5D cinema, an air raid shelter from the war era and a virtual reality ride “Music in Vienna” on a total area of ​​1300 m² . In 2018 Time Travel recorded 247,114 visitors and ranked 17th among Vienna's attractions.

Time Travel was founded on June 1st, 2012 by Paul Rankine.

The Time Travel Vienna concept was developed in close collaboration with the historians Manfried Rauchsteiner and Katrin Unterreiner . For the multimedia shows and technical effects, numerous companies from Europe and the USA were engaged, which have already implemented projects for the Walt Disney Corporation or the Merlin Group . History comes to life at Time Travel Vienna through the interaction of historical content and entertainment technology.

The tour is conducted in German. There are audio guides in ten different languages ​​(English, Spanish, French, Italian, Czech, Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Chinese, Japanese). Visitors can hear each show simultaneously translated into their national language via headphones. A tour includes 32 seats and a 50-minute tour starts every 20 minutes.
