Timm Gudehus
Timm Gudehus (born August 12, 1939 in Hamburg ) is a German manager, scientist, consultant and author specializing in logistics and analytical economics.
Life
He studied mathematics and physics in Hamburg and Bonn and completed his studies in 1964 with a thesis in the field of experimental nuclear physics. Gudehus then worked at DESY and received his doctorate in 1968 from the University of Hamburg with a dissertation on a quark field theory. With a postdoctoral fellowship from the Center for Theoretical Studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables , he spent a year researching in the USA.
After returning to Germany and two intermediate stops, Gudehus went to the newly founded Demag-Systemtechnik in Hagen in 1971. In 1977 Gudehus became managing director of a plant construction company in Schwieberdingen. From 1980 to 1990 he was division manager for marketing and sales of a manufacturer of roll covers in Cologne and then for two years managing director of a company in the textile industry in Waldshut. At the end of 1991 Gudehus set up as a freelance management consultant for strategy and logistics and returned to Hamburg in 1994.

Gudehus has published 8 books and over 160 articles on physics, technology, logistics and economics that have appeared in specialist journals.
In 1974 Gudehus completed his habilitation on order picking technology at the Technical University of Braunschweig. His main works are a book on logistics, which has been published in four editions since 1999 and in English, and in 2007 the book “Dynamic Markets”, which was published in 2015 in the 2nd edition and is intended to open up a new way to understand economics.
