Timo Hoyer

Timo Hoyer (* 1964 ) is a German educational scientist ( Karlsruhe University of Education ).

Life

After studying educational science, philosophy and modern German literature in Frankfurt am Main, Hoyer worked from 1997 to 2005 as a research assistant at the University of Kassel in the department of education / human sciences. For his dissertation Nietzsche as an educational theorist , he was awarded the Georg Forster Prize of the University of Kassel in 2001. He then completed his habilitation at the University of Kassel on the subject of virtue and education. The foundation of moral education in antiquity . After his appointment as a private lecturer in 2005, Hoyer moved to the Sigmund Freud Institute in Frankfurt am Main as a research assistant , where he devoted himself to the research area of ​​psychoanalysis and society until 2010. For the 100th birthday of the psychoanalyst Alexander Mitscherlich , he published his biography in 2008 with the title Im Tümmel der Welt . In addition to his work at the Sigmund Freud Institute, Hoyer took on a substitute professorship for practical philosophy at the University of Kassel in 2007/08 and another professor for general education at the Karlsruhe University of Education in 2008 . In 2011 he was appointed adjunct professor by the University of Kassel, and in 2013 he was re-qualified at the Karlsruhe University of Education, where he currently teaches and researches as an adjunct professor.
