Timothy Brian Noone

Timothy Brian Noone (born September 21, 1957 in Baltimore ) is an American philosopher .

Life

He earned a BA (History) from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in May 1970, an MA ( Medieval Studies ) from the University of Toronto in November 1980, MSL (Medieval Philosophy) from the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies in January 1987 and a Ph. D. (Medieval Studies) at the University of Toronto in November 1988 with the dissertation : An Edition and Study of the Scriptum super Metaphysicam, bk. 12, d.2: A Work Attributed to Richard Rufus of Cornwall (Reviewer: James P. Reilly ). He taught at St. Bonaventure University (Associate Professor: September 1993 – August 1994, Assistant Professor: September 1989 – August 1993 and January 1988 – June 1989, Instructor: September 1987 – December 1987) and teaches at the Catholic University of America ( Ordinary Professor : since September 2004, Associate Professor: September 1996 – August 2004, Assistant Professor: September 1994 – August 1996).

His areas of interest are medieval metaphysics and epistemology, Franciscan philosophy and the philosophy of history.
