Timuçin Davras

Timuçin Davras (born September 29, 1928 in Havran , Turkey ; † May 6, 2014 ) was a German-speaking poet of Turkish origin.

Life

Davras attended technical colleges in Istanbul and Hagen and had been a qualified engineer for mechanical engineering since 1958. He had lived in Gelsenkirchen since the 1970s, was a member of the Gelsenkirchen authors' group and was a member of the literature working group at the Gelsenkirchen City Evening Realschule. The poet is mentioned in reference works on intercultural literature in Germany.

From 1978 he wrote his first lyric works in German. In 1979 he took one of the top places in a regional literary competition. His poems were published in the guest worker literary anthologies, published several times, at Home in the Foreign (1981), They made me a foreigner ... I became one (1984) and in the volume On Offer (1982). The Geest publishing house recently published some of its work on the subject of The Night (2007).
