Timur Bas (born December 29, 1994 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian basketball player .

career

Bas attended the Dornbirn Sports High School and made his debut with the Dornbirn Lions in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2008/09 season at the age of 14 . In 2011 he won the championship title with Dornbirn. In 2013 Bas was voted “Mister Vorarlberg” in a beauty contest. In 2014 he moved to the United States after he scored an average of 12.2 points and 6.7 rebounds for Dornbirn in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2013/14 season. In the 2014/15 season he played and studied at Walsh University (second NCAA division) in the US state of Ohio .

After a year in the United States, Bas returned to Austria and was signed by Bundesliga club BK Klosterneuburg . After posting the best average values ​​of his previous Bundesliga career in nine Bundesliga games with 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per encounter in the 2018/19 season, Bas moved back to his home club Dornbirn Lions in the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of November 2018 .

National team

With the Austrian U16, U18 and U20 national teams, he took part in B-European championships, at the U16 B-EM in summer 2010 he was the best basket scorer of the Austrian selection with 14.9 points per game.
