Tina Busse-Irwin

Tina Busse-Irwin (* 1981 in Hagen , North Rhine-Westphalia , as Tina Busse ) is a Canadian dressage rider.

Born in Germany , she and her family moved to Canada just one year after she was born . Her mother is the Grand Prix rider Ute Busse. Tina Busse-Irwin has been married to dressage rider Jaimey Irwin since 2005 and lives in Stouffville , Ontario .

Career

After high school she went to Germany and trained first with Klaus-Martin Rath and then with Holger Münstermann.

In 2011 she started with Winston at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara (Mexico) .

At the Pan American Games 2019 in Lima, Peru , she won the gold medal with the Equipe on Laurencio together with Jill Irving, Lindsay Kellock, and Naima Moreira Laliberté. With this success, Canada was able to qualify for the team competition in dressage at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

In the individual competition she achieved second place with a score of 77.780%, behind Sarah Lockman who got 78.980%.
