Tina Nedergaard

Tina Nedergaard (born March 28, 1969 in Aarhus ) is a Danish politician of the conservative-liberal party Venstre . From February 2010 to March 2011 she was the education minister of her country.

education and profession

Nedergaard studied Political Science at Aarhus University and graduated in 1997. Between 1997 and 1998 she was program director at IUC-Europe, an educational organization. She then worked as a consultant in the Danish employers' association until 2002.

Political career

Nedergaard was a member of the Danish parliament, the Folketing , from November 2001 to June 2015 . She represented the constituency of Nordjylland . Between 2001 and 2005 she served as spokesperson for IT and telecommunications, then until 2009 as spokesperson for nutrition and consumers and until 2010 as spokesperson for finance. On February 23, 2010, she was appointed Minister of Education. She resigned on March 8, 2011 for personal reasons. She then returned to the Folketing, where she was spokesperson for research, science and higher education until 2012. From 2014 to 2015 she was employed as a spokesperson for family policy.
