Tinaquillo is a city in Cojedes , in Venezuela , administrative seat of the Municipio Falcón. Tinaquillo was founded on April 25, 1760 as an Indian village and has about 108,000 inhabitants.
history
The first inhabitants of the region were native Americans of various tribes. Spanish monks established missions in the late 16th and early 17th centuries.
On June 23, 1821, the independence troops marched through Tinaquillo, which one day later took part in the Battle of Carabobo .
politics
The mayor belongs to the PSUV. He was elected in 2008 with 49.04% of the vote.
In the elections for the National Assembly , the PSUV received 61.80% of the vote, while the Mesa de la Unidad received 32.12%, the regional party MOVEV 4.27% and Patria Para Todos 1.31%.
