Tine Thing Helseth [ ˈtiːnɛ tɪŋ hɛlsɛt ] (born August 18, 1987 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian classical trumpeter and director of the tenThing brass ensemble .

biography

Helseth started playing the trumpet at the age of seven. She later studied at the Barratt Due Music Institute in Oslo. Her teachers were Heidi Johanessen from the Norwegian State Opera Orchestra and, since 2002, Arnulf Naur Nilsen from the Oslo Philharmonic. Her international career began with second prize at the “Eurovision Young Musician Contest” 2006.

As a soloist she has so far performed with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra , the Vienna Chamber Orchestra , the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, all major Norwegian orchestras and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra .

She released her first album, Classical Trumpet Concertos with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra , in 2007. Two years later, My Heart is Ever Present , a collection of songs and chants for the Christmas season, followed.

In 2007 she played at the Nobel Prize Gala for the award of the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo. Tine Thing Helseth has received several prizes and awards. In 2007 she received the Luitpold Prize of the Kissinger Sommer Festival and in 2013 the ECHO Klassik as a young artist (trumpet). In 2007 she founded the “ tenThing Brassensemble ” and joined a. a. at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival 2014.
