As tinea manus (lat. " Tinea hand", or tinea manuum "tinea of the hands") refers to a dermatophytosis of the hands. The main pathogens are Trichophyton rubrum , Trichophyton interdigitale , and more rarely Epidermophyton floccosum . Often there is an athlete's foot , which acts as a source of infection, and a nail fungus at the same time .

Tinea manus usually occurs on one side. A distinction is made between dyshidrotic tinea manus with itchy blisters and pustules on the palms and fingertips and hyperkeratotic rhagadiform tinea manus with reddened, scaly changes and rhagades on the palm side and fingertips. Treatment is through antifungal drugs .

A distinction must be made between Candida albicans infections (intertriginous candidiasis), which mainly occur between the fingers and manifest themselves through deeper skin defects, as well as psoriasis and other eczema .
