Tips (newspaper)

Tips is a regional newspaper in Upper Austria (with weekly publication) and Lower Austria (in Amstetten also weekly, otherwise monthly), based in Linz .

The newspaper, founded in 1986, is part of the Wimmer Medien Group ( Upper Austrian News ). Publisher and owner is Rudolf Andreas Cuturi, managing directors are Josef Gruber & Moritz Walcherberger. 23 Tips regional editions will be published in 2020, 16 of them in Upper Austria and 7 in western Lower Austria. According to the Working Group Media Analyzes MA 16 - Regional Weekly Newspapers, Tips has over 1.1 million readers per issue in Upper and Lower Austria, which corresponds to a reach of 65.6% in Upper Austria. The newspaper is sent to all households as direct mail. The direct competitor is the Oberösterreichische Rundschau .

history

In 1986, the start of the large-format service newspaper in Linz and the Kleinanzeiger in Vöcklabruck laid the foundation for tips. In the following 15 years, 7 regional editions were published in Upper Austria. In 2002 the concept of the tips was converted to a small-format regional newspaper that provides its readers with information from the region on a weekly basis.
