history

Editorial office of the Ischler Woche at Auböckplatz in Bad Ischl

The Ischler Woche has existed in its current form since January 2003. Before that, the so-called Ischler Wochenrundschau (also known as: Wochenrundschau - Ischler Wochenblatt) existed as a regional newspaper for the Inner Salzkammergut since 1980 . The Wochenrundschau was sold by the previous Bad Ischler owner to the Oberösterreichische Rundschau in December 2002 and its content changed to one of 13 local editions. On the occasion of this merger, the editors and employees made contact with the Wimmer media group because they wanted to continue producing a “local” newspaper.

The talks were positive and in January 2003 the first edition of the then new Ischl Week was created by this team and put on the market. The year 2013 was marked by the 10th anniversary.
