Tirizis Island (English; Bulgarian остров Тиризис ostrow Tirisis ) is an east-west orientation 1.05 km long and up to 350 m wide rocky island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 100 m off the east coast of Robert Island . Its eastern end is formed by Kitchen Point , which was assigned to Robert Island before the retreat of the ice masses at the beginning of the 21st century.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2012 after the ancient Thracian city of Tirisis in northeastern Bulgaria .
