The Tyrolean History Association is a history association that researches the history of Tyrol within its historical limits and communicates it to the wider public. Due to the division of Tyrol after the First World War , the entire association is divided into a section Innsbruck (according to Austrian law) and a section Bolzano (according to Italian law).

history

The Tyrolean History Association was founded in 1982 - in the run-up to the Andreas Hofer memorial ceremony in 1984 and in the spirit of overall Tyrolean patriotism - and is based in the former armory of Emperor Maximilian I. According to its statute, the association sees its mandate as “knowledge of history To spread Tyrol within its historical limits, to deepen historical awareness in general and to promote all measures that serve to research the history of Tyrol ”.

Club activities

The association holds lectures, symposia and conferences on Tyrolean history, publishes relevant works and organizes excursions. In 2010 the association decided to cooperate with the South Tyrolean Provincial Archives , which was extended in 2013. The association has a workplace in the state archive, which in turn is permanently represented on the association's board.
