Table tennis world cup
The table tennis world cup is a club world championship for table tennis clubs . It has been held annually since 2002, then every six months and now at irregular intervals, which is why the year does not appear in the official tournament name.
World Cup winners
There was a world championship for table tennis clubs as early as 2001, but only two teams took part. The Belgian top representative Royal Villette Charleroi competed against the best club in China, then Sichuan Quanxing . The title went to "La Villette".
World Cup 2002
Only four clubs took part: Caen Tennis de Table from Caen in France, Sichuan Quanxing from China , Borussia Düsseldorf from Germany and host Royal Villette Charleroi from Belgium. It was played in a league in round robin . A team received 2 points for a win and 1 point for a defeat.

World Cup 2003
The mode did not change from 2002, except that one team was allowed to participate more. Charleroi took the title with four wins in four games ahead of Shanghai Shenhua from China. Third again went to Düsseldorf, which lost both matches against the top two. SVS Niederösterreich landed on fourth and tied for fifth place, defending champion Caen finished the tournament with just one win (against Charleroi).

Düsseldorf were in the lead until the last game until they lost 3-0 to Charleroi.
World Cup 2004
The cup began with six teams in two groups of three teams each. It ended with a 3-0 victory for defending champions Charleroi in the group winners' final against Borussia Düsseldorf.
World Cup 2005
Now with eight teams, the cup attracted more and more spectators to the arena in Bremen. In the group winners' final, Shandong Luneng and the top stars won the title with a 3-1 win against Borussia Düsseldorf, which has now been declared a "team with the curse of the final".
5th World Cup
Luneng defended the title in the final of the group winners, now from groups of five, against Düsseldorf. The only point for the Germans was Bojan Tokic.
6th World Cup
La Villette beat Timo Bolls TTV patrons 3-2 from groups of six in a long final in Sydney.
7th World Cup
From now on the four group winners moved into the semi-finals. The winners were Luneng and Charleroi, who fought a hot battle in the final. Luneng won 3-2.
8th World Cup
The final Düsseldorf - Charleroi ended 3: 4.
