Titao is a city (commune urbaine) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso , located in the North region and the capital of Loroum Province . The population in the main town and the 39 surrounding villages is 66,379 (2006 census). The city is divided into seven sectors and was founded around the beginning of the 18th century.
The residents, called Titaolais , are predominantly Muslim.
