Tittabawassee Township, Michigan

Tittabawassee Township is a civil township of Saginaw County in the US state of Michigan . In the 2010 census, a population of 9726 was registered, which is a significant increase compared to the 2000 census with 7706 inhabitants. The parish is named after the Tittabawassee River .

Demographics

At the 2000 census, the parish had 7706 people, 2383 households and 1849 families. The population density was 84.5 inhabitants per km ². The population density of the municipality was 27.5 people per km². The ethnic composition was 87.32% White, 8.89% African American, 0.53% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, and 0.78% from other races. 1.96% of the population were from two or more races; Hispanic or Latino of any race was 3.01% of the population.

There were 2,383 households out of which 39.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 66.2% of households were made up of married couples living together, 8.6% had a female household with no husband present, and 22.4% of households were non-families. 18.3% of all households were single households and there were people living in 5.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 people and the average family size was 3.08 people.

The age structure of the community was broken down as follows: 23.9% of the community members were under 18 years old, 7.5% 18 to 24 years old, 39.2% 25 to 44 years old, 22.0% from 45 to 64 and 7 , 4% of residents were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years and for every 100 women there were 137.8 men. If the under-18 group is excluded, the gender inequality was even more pronounced. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 148.2 men.

The median income for a household in the county is $ 54,980 and the median income for a family is $ 66,455. Males had a median income of $ 50,137 versus $ 30,994 for females. The gender pay gap was therefore almost 38%.

The community's per capita income was $ 20,554, about a third of the average income of Americans. About 4.3% of families and 4.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.0% of those under 18 and 6.8% of those over 65.

Institutions and infrastructure

The Saginaw Correctional Facility , a state prison for male adults, is located on the northern edge of the community.

The "R1SE Education and Recreation Center", an innovative learning studio for children, is also located in Tittabawassee Township.
