Finn Kristensen

Finn Kristensen (born July 24, 1936 in Brevik ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). He was Minister of Economics and Energy in his country.

Life

Kristensen trained as an electrician from 1950 to 1954 . He then worked in this profession until 1962. Between 1989 and 1990 he was head of Statoil (now Equinor ). Between 1959 and 1963 Kristensen was a member of the local parliament of Eidanger , a current district of Porsgrunn , and then until 1971 in the local parliament of Porsgrunn. In what was then the province of Telemark , he was in charge of the Arbeiderpartiet between 1972 and 1997. He first moved into the Norwegian parliament, des Storting , in 1969 . There he consistently represented the constituency of Telemark until 1985 and he chaired the industry committee between October 1979 and February 1981.

On February 4, 1981, he was appointed Minister of Industry, a post he initially held until the end of the Brundtland I government on October 14. After the Storting election in 1981 , he was a member of the Ap. On May 9, 1986, he was reappointed Minister of Industry, and from 1988 Minister of Economics. He held the office until October 16, 1989, when the Brundtland II government left. In the Brundtland III government , he was Minister for Oil and Energy between November 3, 1990 and January 1, 1993 , before taking over the post of Minister of Economics and Energy until October 7, 1993.
