Kirsti Kolle Grøndahl

Kirsti Kolle Grøndahl (born September 1, 1943 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). She was Minister for Education and the Church and Minister for Development Aid. She was also Fylkesmann of Buskerud .

Political career

Grøndahl was a member of Røyken's municipal parliament from 1971 to 1977 . In 1977 she moved into the Norwegian Parliament, the Storting , for the first time . There she continuously represented the Buskerud Province until 2001. In May 1986 she became Minister for Church and Education. In June 1988 she moved to the Ministry for Development Aid, where she remained Minister until October 1989. From 1990 to 1993 she was the vice-president of the Storting, until 2001 she headed the parliament as president. She was the first woman to hold this post.

In 1999 she was elected Fylkesmann von Buskerud, which she took over in 2001 after the end of her time at Storting. Grøndahl remained Fylkesmann of the province until 2013.
