Leif Haraldseth (born November 30, 1929 in Drammen , † April 8, 2019 ) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). He was ten years Fylkesmann of Buskerud .

Life

Haraldseth worked as a telegraph operator from 1951 to 1965. Between 1966 and 1970 he was a member of the board of the Buskerud industrial company. From 1970 to 1979 he worked as a consultant for the International Labor Organization . From 1973 until 1977 he was on the board of directors of the Norwegian Institute of Technology. From 1977 to 1986 he was a member of Rikslønnsnemnda , the state body that can intervene in strikes. At the same time, he was also deputy chairman of the Landsorganisasjonen i Norge (LO) trade union federation .

On May 9, 1986, Haraldseth was appointed Minister of Local Affairs and Labor. He held the office until February 20, 1987. He was then head of LO until 1989. In 1988 he was appointed Fylkesmann of the Buskerud Province, he took up the position in 1989 and worked as such until 1999.
