Tove Veierød

Tove Liv Besstun Veierød (born September 19, 1940 in Tromsø ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). From 1990 to 1992 she was Minister of Social Affairs in her country.

Life

Veierød worked as a teacher from 1965 to 1986. From 1983 to 1990 she was a member of the Fylkesting of Troms . Between May 1986 and May 1988 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Science. She then started working for the Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro in Harstad as director of the information department.

In 1990 she moved to the Oslo site for a short time before she was appointed Minister of Social Affairs in the Brundtland III government on November 3, 1990 . She held her office until September 4, 1992. She then returned to Norsk Hydro, where she continued to work as director of the information department until 2006.
