Kari Nordheim-Larsen

Kari Nordheim-Larsen (born June 23, 1948 in Nome ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). She was the development minister of her country from 1992 to 1997.

education and profession

Nordheim-Larsen worked as a secretary from 1969 to 1973 before starting to work as a teacher. From 1986 to 1987 she was the project leader for a Telemark Province initiative to make news more accessible to the blind. At the same time she was the project manager for the development of the children and youth plan of the municipality of Porsgrunn .

Political career

Between 1979 and 1990, Nordheim-Larsen was a city councilor in Skien . She was also a member of the Telemark Fylkesting . From 1983 she was deputy Fylkesordfører . On September 4, 1992, she was appointed Minister for Development in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She exercised the office both in the III Government Brundtland as well as in government Jagland until it ends on 17 October 1997 from.
