Dag Terje Andersen (born May 27, 1957 in Frogn , Viken ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap).

Life

From 1977 to 1992 he worked in industry and forestry. In 2002 he studied journalism. Andersen was a member of the Lardal parish council for the first time in 1983 . From 1987 to 1992 he was mayor of the municipality. Between 1990 and 1992 he was chairman of his party in Vestfold Province . From February to September 1992 he worked as an advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs until November 1992. From 1992 to 1996 he was General Secretary of the Ap.

On October 25, 1996, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture in the Jagland government. He held the office until October 17, 1997. Andersen represented Vestfold in the legislative period from 1997 to 2001 as a member of the Norwegian Parliament, the Storting . Between 2000 and 2001 he was chairman of the finance committee. In the 2005 election he was again a member of the Storting. Between October 2005 and September 2006 he headed the local and administrative committee of parliament and was a member of the parliamentary group chairmanship of his party.

On September 29, 2006, he took over the post of Minister for Economic Affairs and Trade in the Jens Stoltenberg II government , and on June 20, 2008, he became Minister of Labor and Equal Opportunities. He held this post until October 20, 2009. From October 2006 to April 2007 he was also acting minister in the Ministry of Fisheries and Coasts. From 2009 to 2013 he was President of the Storting. He was also the chairman of the election committee. He has been the Chairman of the Control Committee since October 2017. In April 2020, he announced that he would not run again for a seat in Storting.
