Terje Riis-Johansen (born March 15, 1968 in Skien ) is a Norwegian politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp).

Life

In 1991 he was elected to the city council of Skien and the Fylkesting of Telemark , where he worked for four years until 1995. From 1993 to 1997 he was a member of parliament in Storting . Between October 1997 and January 1999 he worked as a political advisor in the Ministry of Finance . From 2005 he was Minister in the Jens Stoltenberg II government , initially for Agriculture and Food, and from June 20, 2008 to March 4, 2011 for Oil and Energy . From 2011 to 2015 he was Telemark Fylkesordfører . In October 2019 he was again Fylkesordfører, now for the new Fylke Vestfold og Telemark .

Riis-Johansen also has extensive experience in organizations, including from 1989–1991 on the central board of the Norwegian Rural Youth Association, 1995–1997 deputy chairman of the organization Nei til EU and 2000–2005 on the board of the Norwegian Farmers' Association.
