Liv Signe Navarsete

Liv Signe Navarsete (born October 23, 1958 in Sogndal ) is a Norwegian politician . She belongs to the Center Party (Sp) and was its chairman from 2008 to 2014. In the Jens Stoltenberg II government , she was Minister of Transport from 2005 to 2009 , and Local and Regional Minister from October 20, 2009 to October 16, 2013.
She is from Sogndal but now lives in Lærdal . In 2005 and 2009 she was elected to Storting for Sogn og Fjordane ; however, she did not fulfill her mandate while she was minister. Since 2013 she has been representing her province in parliament again. In May 2020, she announced that she would not run again for a seat in Storting in the 2021 parliamentary election.
Navarsete was group leader of the Center Party in the Fylkesting of Sogn og Fjordane, sat in the 2001/05 electoral term as a replacement in the Storting and worked as a member of the regional commission of the Norwegian government ( distriktskommisjon ).
In addition, she was on the board of directors of the insurance company Gjensidige Nor Forsikring , was chairwoman of the Stiftinga Vestlandsforsking and worked as an independent entrepreneur.
