Helen Oddveig Bjørnøy

Helen Oddveig Bjørnøy (born February 18, 1954 in Ålesund ) is a Norwegian pastor and politician ( SV ). She is married to Pastor Torstein Lalim, has four children and lives in Drammen .

After graduating from Ålesund grammar school in 1973, she studied at the Menighetsfakultet in Oslo and was ordained in the Norwegian Church in 1981 . After positions in Tromsø and Drammen , she was lecturer at the Lovisenberg Diaconal College from 1991–1999 and Secretary General of the City Mission in Oslo from 1999–2005. In 1994 she was also Vice-Chair of the No to EU organization . She has also authored several books.

From October 17, 2005 to October 18, 2007 she was Environment Minister for Sosialistisk Venstreparti in the second government under Jens Stoltenberg . Since 2008 she has been Secretary General of the Norwegian section of the children's aid organization Plan International . In June 2013 she was appointed District President ( Fylkesmann ) in Buskerud . She held the office until 2019, when the office of Fylkesmann von Buskerud was abolished in this form and the office of Fylkesmann von Viken was created.
