Rigmor Aasrud (born June 26, 1960 in Jevnaker ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet .

education and profession

After attending school, she was economic and administrative manager at Hertz car rental from 1978 to 1985 and then from 1985 to 1992 department manager at Aas Data. She also studied management and economics at the Norwegian School of Management BI . She then completed postgraduate studies in information science at Lillehammer University .

Political career

Within the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap), she also began a career in local politics in 1979 with her first election as a member of Gran's city ​​council ( Kommunestyret ) . In addition, between 1992 and 1996 she was secretary of the women's movement of the Ap. In 1995 she was elected Mayoress ( Ordfører ) of Gran and held this position for ten years until 2005. At the same time, she was chairwoman of the energy company Hadeland Energi between 1999 and 2005 .

Between October 2005 and October 2009 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Care ( Helse- og omsorgsdepartementet ). In the parliamentary elections on September 14, 2009 , she was elected as a candidate for the Ap deputy for Storting , where she represents the interests of the constituency of Oppland .

On October 20, 2009 she was appointed Minister for Administrative Reforms and the Church by Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg . She held the post until the end of the government on October 16, 2013. At the same time, she was Minister of Labor from October 20, 2009 to December 21, 2009, as Minister-designate Hanne Bjurstrøm was only able to take up office after that.

After the end of her time as minister, she returned to the Storting. Between February 2018 and October 2019 she was Deputy Chairwoman of the Finance Committee, after which she took over this position in the Labor and Social Committee.
