Anniken Huitfeldt
Anniken Scharning Huitfeldt (born November 29, 1969 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian politician of the Workers' Party (Ap) . From 2008 to 2013 she was Minister in the Stoltenberg II government . She has headed the Storting Foreign Affairs Committee since 2013 .
Political career
From 1996 to 2000 she was chairman of the youth organization of the Labor Party, the AUF . She was the organization's deputy chairwoman from 1994. From 2000 to 2001 she was Vice-Chair of the International Union of Socialist Youth . From 2001 to 2005 she served on the board of Save the Children .
She has been a member of the Norwegian parliament since 2005, before that she was the so-called Varar representative for two legislative terms , so she might have moved up if another politician from her party had left parliament.
On February 29, 2008, she became Minister for Children and Equal Opportunities in the second Stoltenberg cabinet . On October 20, 2009, she moved to the Ministry of Culture and Churches, where she was Minister of Culture until September 2012 . On September 21, 2012 she finally took over the post of Minister of Labor, which she held until the resignation of the government on October 16, 2013.
In 2017 she was the top candidate for her party's list in Fylke Akershus in the parliamentary elections . In 2019 she became the leader of her party in Akershus.
Private
Anniken Huitfeldt comes from the Danish primitive noble family Huitfeldt (pronounced: Witfalt) and grew up in Jessheim . She is married and has three children.
