List of Family Ministers in Norway

This is a list of the Family Ministers in Norway . The first Minister for Family and Consumption was appointed in 1956. Between 1972 and 1990 the ministry no longer existed and the subject area was largely transferred to the Ministry of Social Affairs. It was recreated in 1990 before being renamed the Ministry of Children and Family in 1991 . In 2006 the official title was renamed to Minister for Children and Equality, which in turn was changed to Minister for Children, Equality and Inclusion in 2010. In 2016 the term inclusion was deleted again. The last name change took place in January 2019 and the associated ministry has been called the Ministry of Children and Family since then.
The current minister for children and families is Kjell Ingolf Ropstad from Kristelig Folkeparti (KrF).
