Solveig Sollie

Solveig Helene Sollie (born April 19, 1939 in Sørum ) is a Norwegian politician of the Christian Democratic Kristelig Folkeparti (KrF). She was a minister in the Syse government from 1989 to 1990 . Between 1998 and 2004 she was Fylkesmann the province of Telemark .

Life

Sollie worked as a substitute teacher from 1958 to 1961. After that she was a housewife until 1985, but as such she was active in local politics. She sat on the Skien City Council from 1975 to 1985 , and was Deputy Mayor from 1979 to 1981. Between 1984 and 1991 she was a member of her party's executive committee. From 1987 she was the deputy chairwoman of the KrF.

After she missed her entry into the Norwegian parliament in Storting in 1981 , she moved in for the first time in 1985. She represented the province of Telemark there until 1997. From 1993 onwards she was deputy group leader of the KrF. From 1992 to 1993 she was also part of the board of directors of the organization Nei til EF, which did not allow Norway to join the EU .

On October 16, 1989, Sollie was appointed Minister in the Department of Consumers and Administration. On January 1, 1990, the ministry was transformed into a family and consumer ministry. She continued in office until the end of the Syse government on November 3, 1990.

In 1998 she took up her position as the new Fylkesman of Telemark. She headed the province until 2004. She has been an honorary member of the KrF since 2007.

In 2018, she supported the party leader at the time, Knut Arild Hareide , who rejected government cooperation with the Fremskrittspartiet (FrP).
