Else Bugge Fougner
Else Bugge Fougner (born November 9, 1944 in Moss ) is a Norwegian politician and lawyer for the conservative Høyre party . From 1989 to 1990 she was the justice minister of her country.
Life
Fougner studied law at the University of Oslo until 1971 . She then worked as a secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs until 1972 before starting to work in a law firm. In 1975 she was only the fifth woman in Norway to be admitted to the Supreme Court.
Between 1987 and 1991 she was the so-called Vararepresentantin , i.e. substitute member, in the Fylkesting of Akershus . On October 16, 1989, she was appointed Minister of Justice and Police in the new Syse government . She held the office until the end of the government on November 3, 1990. Fougner then returned to her profession as a lawyer.
