Kristin Hille Valla

Kristin Hille Valla (born December 31, 1944 in Årdal ) is a Norwegian politician of the Senterpartiet (Sp). She was Norwegian Environment Minister and Fylkesmann of the then province of Oppland .

Life

Valla worked from 1968 as a teacher at various schools. Between 1975 and 1989 she was the principal of the secondary school in Nes . She was also a member of the local parliament of Nes between 1983 and 1987. Then she sat until 1991 as a member of parliament in the Fylkesting of the then Buskerud province . During this time she was also the second vice chairwoman of the Sp.

On October 16, 1989, Valla was appointed Minister of the Environment. She remained in office until the end of the Syse government on November 3, 1990.

From 1991 to 1998 she was chairman of the school association of what was then the province of Oppland. Afterwards she was director of the Central Association of Norwegian Municipalities until 2000 , before becoming project manager for Hedmark and Oppland until 2001 . In 2001 she took up her post as Fylkesmann von Oppland. She remained in this office until December 31, 2014.
