Odd Eriksen (born March 11, 1955 in Sandnessjøen ) is a Norwegian politician of the Labor Party (Ap) .

Eriksen is originally from Dønna . He started his professional career at Elkem Aluminum in Mosjøen . From 1986 to 1990 he was chairman of the local union and, among other things, led the strike in 1986 during the lockout. From 1993 to 2001 he was an MP for Storting , where he represented the constituency of Nordland . From January 1996 to September 1997 he was first deputy chairman of the parliament. From 2001 to 2006 he was chairman of the Labor Party in Nordland. At the same time he was a member of parliament in the Fylkesting of his home province between 2003 and 2005 .

On October 17, 2005, he was appointed Minister of Economics and Trade in the Jens Stoltenberg II government. He resigned on September 29, 2006 and was replaced by Dag Terje Andersen . He then returned to the Nordland Parliament. On December 6, 2006 he was appointed chairman of the Fylkesregierung ( fylkesråd ) of Nordland, which he remained until 2007.

Eriksen became famous when he overcame an air pirate on a Kato Air flight in 2004 and thus prevented a crash near Bodø . For this he received the Polaris Award from the umbrella association of pilot organizations ( IFALPA ).
