Titular diocese of Armentia

Armentia ( Latin : Armentiensis ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

It goes back to the 9th century diocese Armentia in Spain, which belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Vitória. Towards the end of the 11th century, the diocese of Armentia became part of the diocese of Calahorra, which had regained strength after the Christian reconquest .

Pope Francis restored the bishopric as a titular seat in February 2018. It was first awarded in January 2020.
