Titus Flavius Sabinus (tax farmer)
Titus Flavius Sabinus was a Roman tax farmer and moneylender and father of the future emperor Vespasian .
His father was Titus Flavius Petro from Reate in the Sabine country, who had fought on the side of Pompey in the Roman civil war . His mother's name was Tertulla. Flavius Sabinus did not pursue a military career. He was a tax farmer in Asia and later a money lender with the Helvetians . He was probably of a knightly rank .
He was married to Vespasia Polla , with whom he had two sons, Titus Flavius Sabinus and the future emperor Titus Flavius Vespasianus .
