Tobias Aehlig

Tobias Aehlig (* 1980 in Berlin ) is a German organist .

Life

Aehlig studied church music and obtained an A diploma as well as a concert exam organ “with distinction” and concert exam organ improvisation at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2010 . From 2004 to 2008 he worked as organist and choirmaster in St. Clara in Berlin and from 2006 as director of the chamber orchestra of the Schöneberg church district.

From 2008 to 2013 Aehlig served as dean church musicians of the Archdiocese of Paderborn to St. Aloysius in Iserlohn home. Since 2013 he has been the cathedral organist at Paderborn Cathedral and the artistic director of the international organ concerts in the High Cathedral in Paderborn.

In 2010, Aehlig performed the entire organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach in 14 concerts . In addition to various concerts with various ensembles, he participates in radio and television recordings. In 2011 he won First Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Competition for Organ Improvisation in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
