Tobias Rüger

Tobias Rüger (* 1965 in Berlin ) is a German saxophonist and composer.

Live and act

Tobias Rüger received saxophone lessons from Alfred Harth in Frankfurt am Main from 1978 to 1981 . 1988–94 he studied classical saxophone at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin with Detlef Bensmann , and in 1995/96 musicology with Albrecht Riethmüller at the Free University of Berlin . During his studies, Rüger took part in concerts and recordings for the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. From 1999–2003, together with Ulrich Krieger, as a member of the Intersax saxophone ensemble, he recorded the complete work by the American composer John Cage, which is available for saxophone (s) .

In addition, he published CDs with his own compositions and created radio plays and stage music for the SFB (now RBB), Deutschlandfunk and Schauspiel Frankfurt. In addition to his work as a musician, he has written articles on musical topics for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .

Tobias Rüger lives in Frankfurt am Main.
