Paul Störck

Paul Störck (born September 12, 1923 in Vienna ; † July 10, 2001 ) was an Austrian lawyer and a member of the Austrian commercial cooperative system .

He was an association attorney from 1965 to 1984 and chairman of the board of the Austrian Cooperative Association from 1974 to 1984, and for more than two decades he was Chancellor of the Old Order of St. George ( Order of the Four Emperors ). His grandfather Paul von Störck was a leading cooperative official.

education

After graduating from the Federal High School Vienna XIII, Störck studied law and political science at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1950 as a Dr. jur. at the University of Graz .

Professional Activities

After completing his studies, he joined the CA and worked as an authorized signatory and deputy director in its office in Graz. In 1965 he was appointed to the board of the Austrian Cooperative Association as a lawyer and in 1974 was elected chairman of the board.

Functions in lobbying

Störck was represented in leading bodies and expert committees in the interest organizations of the banking industry, whereby his commentary on the Banking Act, which appeared in the Schulze-Delitzsch series in 1988 , was an orientation aid and a reference work for banking practitioners.

Functions in the Volksbank sector

In the Volksbank sector, Störck belonged to a number of leading bodies in companies in the association.

Störck was President of the International People's Banks Association ( CIBP ) from 1979 to 1982 , then Vice President and, after completing his active career, Honorary President of this international cooperative banking organization.

Functions in the Old Order of St. George

Dr. Paul Freiherr von Störck was (former) chancellor, councilor and commander of the order to which he belonged from 1953. He was chancellor under the governors Emanuel Liechtenstein and Leonhard Wolkenstein-Rodenegg.
