The Todzha Lake ( Russian Тоджа , also Озеро Азас (Asa Lake)) is a lake in the northeast of the to Russia belonging Republic of Tuva in Central Asia .

The Todscha Lake is named for the so-called Todscha Basin (also Todscha Basin ), a lowland northeast of the Tuvinian Basin . The main tributary of the lake is the Asas , which flows into its northeast bank. In the west, the 34 km long Toora-Chem leaves the lake and flows to the Great Yenisei , into which it flows at the town of Toora-Chem of the same name .

The lake has nine islands, of which Ulug Ortuluk ( Улуг Ортулук ) is the largest.

Lake Todscha has an average area of ​​51.6 km². Its water level is at an altitude of 944  m . It fluctuates around 1.4 m over the year. It usually has its lowest water level in March and its highest water level in June. At the beginning of November the water surface freezes. In the second half of May, the ice cover breaks again. In the summer month of July, the water temperature on the lake surface reaches up to 19 ° C.
