KK Tokuyama ( Japanese 株式会社 ト ク ヤ マ , Kabushiki kaisha Tokuyama , English Tokuyama Corporation ) is a Japanese chemical company based in Kasumigaseki Common Gate in Chiyoda , Tokyo .

Shūnan (formerly Tokuyama ) in Yamaguchi prefecture is the founding place and still a main production site today . In the 2013 financial year, the specialty chemicals division incurred high losses with silicon production.

Products

The Chemicals division (Japanese for kaseihin , "chemicals") produces basic materials: sodium carbonate and calcium chloride , sodium hydroxide , propylene oxide , chlorine derivatives , vinyl chloride and isopropyl alcohol .
