history

The company was founded in December 1936 during the construction of the Kōrakuen Stadium as KK Kōrakuen Stadium. From 1949 it was listed on the Tokyo and Osaka stock exchanges (until 2009), and the Kōrakuen Keirin Racecourse opened in the same year. In 1955 the amusement park ( Kōrakuen yūenchi ) started operations. After the old stadium was demolished and the Tokyo Dome opened in 1988, the company was renamed Tokyo Dome in 1990 and the amusement park kept its old name until 2003. In 2000, when the Tokyo Dome Hotel opened, the entire complex was moved to Tokyo Dome City renamed.
