Křížlice tolerance prayer house
The tolerance prayer house Křížlice is a Protestant church in Křížlice (German Krizlitz ), a district of Jestrabi , which was built in 1786 as a tolerance prayer house.
Building
While the interior (pulpit altar and wooden sacrament cabinets as well as galleries and stalls) was preserved from the time of construction, the exterior underwent a significant change after the Protestant patent was issued, as a tower was added in 1878, which made the prayer house recognizable as a church. The cemetery around the church, laid out in 1781, is still in use today.
The parsonage with a mansard roof , which was built in 1871 and is now used as holiday accommodation, and the former Protestant school near the church are also significant .
local community
With the Reformation the population became Protestant. Obviously, the secret Protestantism here outlasted the Counter Reformation , because after Joseph II issued the tolerance patent in 1781, a separate Lutheran confession was founded in 1782, which also included other localities - such as Libštát or Spálov .
Until 1918 the community belonged to the Superintendentur Böhmen of the Evangelical Church AB in Austria , since then to the Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brothers .
