Tomás Pinto Brandão , also Thomaz Pinto Brandam , (* 1664 in Porto , Portugal , † October 1743 in Lisbon , Portugal) was a Portuguese poet.

Tomás Pinto Brandão was close friends with the Brazilian writer Gregório de Matos . His life path also took him to Brazil and Angola . However, he spent a large part of his life as a bohemian .

His poetry mainly comprised poems that have been preserved as sonnets and octaves . Due to his honesty and his sometimes very obscene works, he became one of the most popular Portuguese poets in the Baroque era , but afterwards he was no longer important. In his verses, the philanderer also processed love affairs with countesses, which among other things made his verses so popular.
