Tom Reed (screenwriter)
Tom Reed (born December 24, 1901 in Shelton , Washington , USA ; † August 17, 1961 in Long Beach , California , USA ) was an American screenwriter.
Life
Reed was in the film business from the mid-1920s. His first independent script was made into a film in 1929. Until 1952 he was involved exclusively in cinema productions, then he turned to television and wrote scripts for series such as Crossroads and The Adventures of Jim Bowie . His last script was written in 1960 for an episode of the series Wyatt Earp Intervenes . In his career, Reed was involved in around 80 film and television productions.
In 1955, he and Jed Harris were nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Story category for their work on The Invisible Web .
